The scorers must be informed of the decisions reached at the toss for innings such as
    result of toss                                side batting
type of match                               limitations on bowlers
    official timepiece                         intervals
    any special regulations, etc
The umpires should be informed of the position of the scorers during the match, how often the score is going to be updated - after every run or at the end of an over, what form of acknowledgement of umpire's signals

There may be a light on the scorebox which is illuminated for a signal or the scorer may wave a flag or white card and some scorers acknowledge signals by repeating the umpire's actions

The importance of the meetings between umpires, captains and scorers is to clarify all eventualities before play starts
