2.2 CHANGE OF UMPIRE
The umpires are appointed for the complete match and should not normally be changed
There may be circumstances when an umpire needs to be replaced - illness, injury or other exceptional circumstances - and the other umpire will decide that the change is necessary
The captains have no power in the matter of who the replacement is but they can decide whether the replacement umpire can take a full part in the match
If there is no agreement, the replacement can only officiate at the striker's end
Neither captain can instigate the replacement of an umpire
