2.5 CONDUCT OF THE GAME, IMPLEMENTS & EQUIPMENT

The requirement for play to be in the spirit and traditions of the game is incumbent on the captains (Spirit of Cricket)

The umpires have to see that the captains discharge this very important duty

The umpires are responsible for ensuring that the provisions of all the Laws are observed, for example the right equipment is being used - bats, balls, stumps & bails, wicket-keeper's gloves, protective helmets

Some of these duties must be undertaken prior to the toss but some other action may be required during
the match
