2.1 APPOINTMENT & ATTENDANCE Ground inspection (5) The wickets The stumps and bails are the correct size for the grade of cricket being played and are correctly pitched on the creases - Law 8 Outfield There may be dangerous holes on the outfield which need covering before play can start There may be obstacles on the field of play such as rollers or seats which must be moved but if this is not possible, the umpires must make provision for the ball coming into contact with the obstacle during play Covers May not be needed during the match but their availability & accessibility should be checked Timepiece The umpires should agree the official timepiece to be used during the match usually the pavilion clock |
