2.11 DISAGREEMENT AND
DISPUTE
The important point is that an umpire must understand what question is being asked and the other umpire must be clear beyond doubt what the answer is If the pre-arranged signals do not achieve this, then a physical consultation will be necessary An umpire wishing to consult with his colleague should not leave his position until the ball is dead It is good practise for the umpire to always call and signal "Dead ball" before leaving his position In some instances of unfair play, the Law requires the umpires to act together when taking action and disputes should always be settled together Consultation should be limited to situations demanded by Law and where one umpire is better placed to observe the action |
