31.5 ANSWERING APPEALS
Both umpires may reply to a general appeal but their decisions are to be regarded as independent If the bowler's end umpire answers Not out for a catch taken by the wicketkeeper and the striker's end umpire gives a batsman out Stumped the striker is dismissed If there are appeals, each umpire must only answer appeals for situations which come under his jurisdiction An umpire cannot intervene if he thinks his colleague has made a mistake When confusing situations are encountered, the scorers must be informed of the form of dismissal |
