31.2 BATTER DISMISSED

Strikers who have been bowled often 'walk' from their wicket and the field of play without waiting for an appeal

Walking should not be confused with retiring which is dealt with under Law 24

The ball touches the edge of the striker's bat and is caught by the wicket-keeper

He is out Caught but is dismissed if
    he walks from the wicket
          or
the umpire gives him out after an appeal
If he does not walk or the umpire calls Not out, he will carry on batting despite being out Caught

The fielding side will not be pleased!!
