31.6 CONSULTATION BY UMPIRES

Consultation between umpires is a key part of good umpiring

It is most important in making the right decision if there is any doubt on what actually happened

The bowler's end umpire was certain that the ball took the edge of the striker's bat

He was not sure that the subsequent catch by the wicket keeper was taken fairly because it was taken close to the ground

He felt that his colleague at striker's end might have a better view of what actually happened and he must consult with him to ascertain the fairness of the catch or otherwise

If having done so, there was still doubt about the matter then the decision must be Not out
