18.7 RUNS SCORED FOR BOUNDARIES

The captains and umpires must agree the boundary allowances to apply during the match and local allowances may over-rule the normal allowances

Normally, 6 runs are recorded if the striker hits the ball with his bat and it pitches on or over the boundary without pitching on the field of play

Normally, 4 runs are recorded if the striker hits the ball with his bat and it touches or crosses the boundary after pitching on the field of play

Whatever is agreed, the scorers must be informed
