18.2 RUNS DISALLOWED

Any instruction, in any Law, to disallow runs or penalties takes priority over any instruction that permits runs

A Law might say that, in certain circumstances, a boundary is scored. That Law might make no reference to the boundary being disallowed. If, however, some other Law says that no runs shall be scored following an offence, then, if the offence has been committed, the boundary would not be scored.

The disallowance takes priority - always

Runs are disallowed and batters return to their original ends when
    a batter deliberately runs short (Law 18.5)

    illegal Leg byes are attempted (Law 23.3)

    damage to the pitch, by a batter, after the required warnings have been issued

    the injured striker runs himself out
