The batters should not be allowed to benefit from deliberate short running being attempted even if the ball crosses the boundary

all runs, including boundaries, are disallowed but penalty runs will be recorded
award 5 Penalty runs to the fielding side
inform the scorers as to the number of runs to be recorded
inform the captain of the fielding side
inform the captain of the batting side as soon as possible
report the offence to the Executive of the fielding side and the Governing Body responsible for the match
