MARKING THE BOUNDARY
The boundary should be marked, whenever possible, with a white line or a rope The line or rope will have an inside edge which will be the boundary A solid object such as a flag, board or post may be used to help the umpires to see where the boundary line is situated Any solid object will also have an inside edge if it is used to mark the actual boundary If the boundary marker is disturbed it must be returned to its original position when the ball is dead If there is no physical boundary for a part of the boundary, the boundary will be an imaginary line joining the nearest two boundary markers A person, animal or object coming onto the field of play while the ball is in play shall not be regarded as a boundary unless the umpires determine otherwise at the time that contact between the ball and such a person, animal or object is made. The decision shall be made for each separate occurrence |
