41.3 MATCH BALL - CHANGING ITS CONDITION

The umpires should frequently inspect the ball to check its condition

The umpires should take charge of the ball at the fall of a wicket, at the start of an interval and interruption of play

Without wasting time, any member of the fielding side can
    dry a wet ball with a piece of cloth approved by the umpires

    polish the ball but must not use any artificial substance
    he new Law will not permit the use of saliva on the ball.

    remove mud from the seam
Any other action that changes the condition of the ball is forbidden

Using saliva will be treated the same way as any other unfair methods of changing the condition of the ball
