9.6 MAINTENANCE OF FOOTHOLDS
During the match, the bowlers and batters may create holes in the area around the creases
The umpires should ensure that the holes are tidied up so that play can continue
In a one-day match, these holes cannot be repaired because there is insufficient time
In a multi-day match, the holes can be repaired overnight by re-turfing or the use of quick-set filling
