9.2 CLEARING DEBRIS FROM THE PITCH

Removal of debris from the pitch is obligatory and should take place after mowing and before rolling. If the umpires think it necessary, debris can be removed by hand before mowing

Debris should be cleared
    between innings
    at intervals for meals such as lunch and tea
    before the start of play each day
Clearance shall not begin earlier than 30 minutes nor later than 10 minutes before the scheduled start of play

Types of debris to be removed are dust, mud, litter, boot studs which could damage the mower, etc

Sweeping is the normal method of removing debris but will not be allowed if the umpires think the surface of the pitch will be damaged

Debris can be cleared from the pitch at any time during the match if the umpires have no objection
