9.3 MOWING
Mowing the pitch is obligatory and mowing the outfield is almost obligatory
The role of the umpires, relating to mowing, is to ensure that conditions are comparable for both sides
It is the groundstaff's responsibility to conduct the mowing before the toss
The umpires will not be concerned about the mowing in a one day match
They will supervise the mowing for multi-day matches except on the first day
Mowing of the pitch must be completed not later than 30 minutes before the expected start of play
Mowing of the outfield must be completed not later than 15 minutes before the expected start of play
Mowing is to be conducted prior to sweeping and rolling
