8 If for any reason, the bowler does not deliver the ball
The bowler may lose his stride when running in to deliver the ball
However the bowler can attempt to run out the non-striker provided he does so before he enters his delivery stride
The umpire must allow the bowler this right and should only call and signal Dead ball if an attempted run out is unsuccessful
