7 If the bowler drops the ball before delivering it
In wet playing conditions he may lose grip of a slippery ball
or he may make slight contact with the umpire knocking the ball out of his hand
Either umpire shall call and signal Dead ball when the bowler throws the ball towards the striker’s end before entering his delivery stride (October 2022)
