33.3 MAKING A CATCH The act of making a catch starts when the ball first touches the fielder and ends when a fielder has complete control over both the ball and his own movement One fielder can start the catch and it can be completed by another fielder The Law does not restrict the fielder to catching the ball with his hands The fielder may 'hug it to his body’ or ‘it lodges in his clothing’ only if it is accidental As long as he stops the ball in the air and keeps it there, he has caught it |
