22.2 CALL AND SIGNAL OF WIDE BALL

The ball may be considered to be a Wide from the instant of delivery

The umpire should not call and signal Wide ball until the ball has passed the line of the striker's wicket

The striker may make a very late movement which stops the delivery being judged a Wide

If after the umpire has called and signalled Wide ball, the striker makes contact with the ball either
    with his bat
          or
    his person
the umpire should revoke the call
