41.17 BATTERS STEALING A RUN

It is not unfair if the striker advances down the pitch whilst receiving a delivery

Both batters have to be engaged in an attempt to steal a run for it to come under this Law

The attempt can only occur during the bowler's run-up before he reaches his delivery stride

The bowler has 2 choices if an attempt is made to steal a run
Choice 1 - he can attempt to run out the striker by throwing the ball at his wicket (See Law 21.4)

Choice 2 - he can attempt to run out the non-striker as described in Law 41.16
