41.14 BATTER DAMAGING
THE PITCH
The batters should not cause any avoidable damage to any part of the pitch including the protected area
The striker should get off the pitch as quickly as possible and not be allowed to run straight down the pitch towards the other wicket
The non-striker should never run on the pitch
Any discusssion between the batters should take place off the pitch
Batters are allowed to prod the pitch with the toe of the bat but they must not damage the pitch by beating it with the bat
