EQUIPMENT

The checking of equipment must continue throughout the match not just before the match commences

During the match, the balls may deteriorate, the boundary rope may be moved, a bail may be broken, creases may need remarking, wickets may need remaking and checking

Match ball - Collected by the umpires from the teams or match authorities before the toss

The type of match being played may determine the type of ball being used, the standard red ball, the white ball used in day/night matches or the pink experimental ball which may replace the white ball for one-day matches

Spare balls - A selection of balls should be made available and in an accessable place so that they are available when needed
