1.2 NOMINATION AND REPLACEMENT OF PLAYERS

The umpires should receive the list of nominated players before the toss for the following reasons:

It prevents a captain changing his team after the toss

It provides information about the ages of the players

It enables the umpires to ensure that only nominated players take a full part in the match

The nomination may be made by any person associated with the club if the captain is not available

No player may be replaced after the nomination without the consent of the opposing captain

The document should be signed by a responsible adult representative of the side with a statement that the information supplied is correct

Any replacement player shall be considered the same player as the nominated player he/she replaced for the purposes of these Laws.
A replacement may not bat in an innings in which the nominated player he is replacing has completed his innings
Any un-served Penalty time, warnings or suspensions, that applied to the original nominated player will be inherited by his replacement (October 2022)
