37.1 OUT OBSTRUCTING THE FIELD


Either
batter can be out Obstructing the field from
    a fair delivery
    a No ball
    a Wide ball
but once the ball is dead no part of this Law applies

The obstruction does not have to disadvantage the fielding side

The act of obstruction by action or word of mouth must be wilful for an appeal to be upheld and it is recommended that the umpires consult before answering the appeal

The batter who is given out on appeal
is not always the one that obstructed
