13.4 THE TOSS
The toss ends the period of time 'before the match' and commences the period of time 'during the match'
It should take place in the presence of an umpire, preferably both umpires
not more than 30 minutes before
and not less than 15 minutes before
the time when play is due to start
or a re-scheduled start time, if there has been a delay
It must take place on the field of play and is usually conducted near the pitch by the captains and umpire(s)
If a captain is not available, the umpires will insist that another person conducts the toss - he MUST be a nominated player
