38.3 WHICH BATTER IS OUT

Law 30 explains the batter's ground but some examples will illustrate how the Law works on the field

The batters attempt a 3rd run but in the confusion both are running to the wicket-keeper's end when the wicket is put down, the batter nearest that end is Run out

The striker does not attempt a run and does not leave his ground but the non-striker joins him at the wicket-keeper's end and the wicket is fairly put down at the bowler's end and the non-striker is Run out
