Example 7

Tea is scheduled for 30 minutes commencing at 4 pm

The 7th wicket falls at 3.58

Tea is taken at the end of the over
Play will resume at 4.28


Example 8

The 9th wicket falls at 3.34

By 3.58 the final wicket has not fallen

Play will continue until the end of the over in progress at 4.30
    unless the final wicket falls during this time
11.7 LUNCH OR TEA INTERVAL - 9 WICKETS DOWN

If any wicket other than the 9th falls during the period after 3 minutes before tea or lunch

      tea is taken when the over is completed (Example 7)

The retirement of a batter is NOT regarded as the fall of a wicket for this section of this Law

If 3 minutes remain to the agreed tea interval and 9 wickets have already fallen (Example 8)
    tea will not be taken until

    the end of the over 30 minutes after the agreed time for tea

    unless the final wicket falls

          or

    there is a stoppage
