Team, side, eleven

Owner: D Jones A cricket match is played between two teams of eleven players each, one whom is the captain. Arranging matches with more than eleven players on each side is permissible, but only eleven are allowed to field at any time.
The captain who wins the toss will decide whether he wishes to bat or field first, whereupon his team will be referred to as the batting side or the fielding side until the first innings is completed.
