Non-striker, Not on strike  The batsman who is standing at the bowler's end, not facing the bowling, is referred to as the 'non-striker', in order to make it easier to distinguish him from his colleague the striker who is facing the bowling. A non-striker is, therefore, a batsman who is not on-strike.
