Match L
The batting side needs 2 runs to win.
The ball is hit towards the boundary.
It crosses the boundary before the batters complete the 2nd run.
The boundary 4 will be counted.
Match M
The batting side needs 2 runs to win.
The ball is hit towards the boundary.
It crosses the boundary after the batters complete the 2nd run.
The 2 completed runs will be counted.
16.6 WINNING HIT OR EXTRAS
The match is over as soon as a result has been achieved and the umpires must decide exactly when the winning run was scored
If a boundary is hit and the running batters did not complete enough runs to win, before the ball crossed the boundary, the whole boundary allowance will be counted (Match L)
If a boundary is hit and the running batters did complete enough runs to win, the completed runs and not the boundary allowance will be counted (Match M)
The match is over as soon as a result has been achieved and the umpires must decide exactly when the winning run was scored
