Movement by wicket-keeper  "In the Laws it says that the wicket-keeper is not allowed to make significant movement forward while the ball is being delivered. Is he allowed to make significant movement backwards?" The wicket-keeper is not allowed to move forwards or backwards after the ball comes into play (when the bowler commences his run-up) and before it reaches the striker. The wicket-keeper can move forward slightly if he feels that the bowler is going to bowl a slower ball It is important to remember that the wicket-keeper is a fielder and is subject to the Laws relating to fielders as well to those relating to the specific role that he carries out.
