Duck, Blob, Golden duck, Pair, King pair, Bag a pair

A duck, or 'making a blob', means to be dismissed without scoring - in other words - for 0. A golden duck means to be out for nought first ball. The expression is traditionally supposed to derive from the shape of a duck's egg.

A pair, sometimes known as a pair of spectacles, means being out for nought twice in the same match, and a king pair describes the agony for the same batsman of not only being out for nought twice in the same match but off the first ball received on both occasions!
